Default PRV Engine Tags - How to ID?

I'm looking for some help on how to ID the type of engine block based on the engine tags found on PRV engines. I have two examples that appear to be a 140 an a 134 but what do these equate to, B27 B28?. What do the toher numbers on the tags mean? I'm assuming the larger number on the top of the tin tag is the serial number? The Volvo documentation on engine tags does not show how to ID the numbers. I was also under the impression that a red color tag was a euro spec block? Thank you!

Are you considering fixing one of those? If so, Why?

No, these are examples of PRV replacement engines that have been swapped into Deloreans, mine included. We're trying to confirm what type of blocks we have that have been fitted into our cars. At first I thought the 140 meant it was the PRV 140 used in the Renault 30, but these are volvo tags and I'm not aware of the 140 being used in a Volvo unless they used the 140 and called it a B27. The 140 for renault was tagged in the same place the DMC PRVs were tagged on the drivers side of the block (as facing rear mounted, oil dip stick side). This volvo doc on how to ID the engine via the tag does not explain how to decipher the numbers on the plate. The illustration also references a 134 tag.

No, my question is for how to ID a Volvo PRV engine block, these happened to be swapped into a Delorean at some point in their 40 year history. If they were Delorean PRVs those are tagged differently and I wouldn't need to be asking . I thought the group of expert Volvo folks could help us out on how to decode the Volvo PRV ID tags. Thanks

Those engines were only used for a few years in the 260 volvos. I've plenty of experience (in the 1970s-80s) putting cams and solving other problems in those engines. But - I just fixed them, and have no knowledge of ID tags. Sorry
