Purchasing optional insurance for used car sale
Looking to purchase a used mid 2000s V70R. Dealer indicates there are several options for a warranty (6,12, or 36 month) with varying amounts of coverage. Car appears to have a lot of maintenance records via the carfax. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions on this? I don'w know if its worth the money. I know it will need based on mileage (roughly 100k) timing belt and maybe PCV updates soon.

Warranties are sold to make money, both for the warranty company and the dealer. If you do buy it make sure you negotiate it hard as most don't know it can be negotiated. Also, just know that maintenance items like the timing belt, PCV, brakes, tires, etc., are not covered by any warranty policy.
