Default rain sensor operation

2018 xc60 There's supposed to be a display on the dashboard to show that the rain sensor is active. Where is that found? Engine running, wipers not active, I press the rain sensor button on the wiper stalk but nothing shows up in the displays. Sometimes when I press the rain sensor button the wipers respond by giving one wipe, but I can't find a display anywhere to confirm that the sensor is active. What am I doing wrong? I'm asking because my3-year lease is about to be up and I'm buying the lease out and want to be sure that all systems are a-ok before that happens. This leads me to another question. Does the 2018 have a four-year warranty? Will I be able to get servicing and other warranty repairs even though my lease is up? Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, your post is from the manual and is exactly what I've been trying to make work. It says there that the symbol will be displayed in the instrument panel. I am not able to find any symbol anywhere in my steering column display.

On my 2020 the symbol when activated is located to the left of the clock near the center of the instrument cluster.

Progress huh? On the older cars there was a little green light on the Rain Sensor Button. I guess it was too convenient and logical and the engineers were driven mad by it.

Well noted! If it works, fix it.
