Regarding the new WARRANTIES
I have seen many posts, about the ETM, and Throttle Bodies going bad, and Volvo covering them under the new warrantie 10 year 200,000 miles. My question is i had a ETM failure at around 90k. My car is going to hit 100 very soon. I opted not to fix my ETM because the dealer said it wasnt that important, and also paying over a 1000 for some computer chip sounded outrageous. the car drove perfectly fine since the etm failure, havent noticed a difference. What i want to know is will Volvo cover a new ETM or a Throttle Body since i havent done any work to them. Any help will be greatly appriciated.
I don't understand. If your ETM failed......................you have to replace it............there is no alternative. IE: you can no longer drive the auto. It stops on the road dead! So if you had and paid for the replacement (appx $1,100.00) you must ask the dealer to start the paper work for your reimbursement. If the ETM was not replaced then you do not have a claim.

He might have had Intermitant codes in there and they tryed to sell him the throttle body.
If it had been replaced then you will have gotten reimbursed for the repair.
Yes they will cover it now BUT Your check engine light will have to be on with throttle body codes in the system. If not they will charge you a check out fee. Then send you on your way.

lmao, probably a dumb question to ask, Is there a way to cause it to happen, turn on the check engine light and have the certain error codes in place come up?
My check engine light was on a while ago, had it inspected they said etm was bad. i opted not to fix at the time and they did clear my code, the check engine light had never been on before. THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING PERFECTLY never stalled on me, you hit the gas it goes like it did before. the etm has not had a effect on the car.
