I hav e 2004 Volvo S80 D5 and the reversing beepers do not work idea's please. also Fuel flap locking mechanism will unlock but will not re-lock Help appreciated thank you

 

Did you check the owners manual to see if there's a switch setting for the reverse beeper? In all honesty I've never heard of such a feature excepting on UPS and Amazon delivery trucks lol - is this a euro only thing or did a PO install an after market kit? As to the fuel flap, can you see if the mechanism is sticking or if it appears to be out of adjustment? You may want to visit a dealer parts web store to see how the flap is controlled (ie electric solenoid vs a cable).

The terminology should have read reversing warning signal too save any one reversing into any object, they are standard fitting on most European cars i cannot find anything in the work shop manual that relates to the problem. But my garage mechanic says it could be a broken connection and that it may be a computer fault, apparently there are 2 on my model. once again thank you for your reply & have really nice day

 

I'm trusting your "reversing beepers" are your parking sensors. Beep gets faster the closer you are to an object. Solid tone once you hit it! Did yours used to work? Or have you never heard them before?

So the gas door is locked sometimes when you check it? The gas door does not lock instantly when you lock the car. This is to allow you to exit the car, lock the doors, and then open the gas door and fill the tank with the doors locked. (preventing bad/strange/or not so strange people from entering your car when you don't want them to)
