Default seat belt receptacle replacement

I am trying to replace both driver and passenger seatbelt receptacles. I assumed that this would be easy and the seatbelt connections to the rest of the SRS system would be under each seat. However, it appears that the seatbelt cable travels the width of the seat and disappears into a tunnel under the floor on the side of each seat. Where on earth are the connections, and how do I get to them?

what car model year? I suspect they bolt to the floor pan and are hidden by the carpet. Can you feel around for the end point? Try checking Youtube for a vid on removing the seats.

94 940,
I can easily un bolt the belt latches on the side of each seat, but I do not know where the attachments are for the cable ends. They are not under the seat, and the cables seem to go into a tunnel under the floor.
