Hi, I have just bought an used 2006 XC90 V8 AWD with 18,500 miles.

I got it from an Internet dealer who has a really good reputation and I had it checked at Volvo of Dallas before I bought it. When I spoke with Volvo of Dallas, they said that their system could not tell if it had been serviced (I assume the servicing is needed at 7,500 and 15,000 miles?) and that they only can only tell on cars serviced at their dealership.

I just went to Volvo of Santa Fe and they said the same thing.

The maintenance book is blank.

Is there a way I can get someone to look at a nationwide computer and see if it has been serviced?

Otherwise, I guess I will just get the 15,000 miles service done now.

I wanted to confirmyour maintenance book findings and that you aren't alone; ourbook is also blank, and we had our XC90 dealer serviced since new up until the last oil change which I did myself at 67.5 miles.

I don't have an answer on the national database, maybe tech can answer this part.

 

Hi and congratulations on purchasing your XC90! What you have found is correct - there is no national database of service records, and those service record books hardly ever get used. Your best bet is to find out where the car was originally sold by pulling its CarFax report, then contact the originating dealer's service department. If any of the services were done there they should have records.

Funny...My car was serviced at another dealer than where it was bought. They could tell me if I needed my service from the computer..actually I wanted to get it done early to save the 3 hour trip but they would not do it early...

My service book was stamped the first service but nothing after that ..I store all my service reciepts in my book for proof...
