Default shift bypass button

I just purchased a 95 850R. I have to push the button every time I want to get out of Park. Is this normal, and if not, how can it be fixed?

The shiftlock micro switch is bad.

Try searching around this forum in the 850 section I have posted how to replace it and there should be a couple of pics that will help.

Here is the information you need on changing the microswitch. Look at the directions at volvospeed.com, but look for the part that I got. It had the microswitch and selenoid all in in one. It's a pain to do because of where it is located and it's very small. Watch very carfully how the old one is in there and make sure you put the new one in the same way.
