Shimmy at High Speed!!
I have a 2001 S60. When at highway speed there is a severe shimmy felt through the steering wheel and the whole car, when under torq. Take my foot off the accelerator at it almost clears up. I have suggested to the dealer hubs but they tell me they are ok. Anyone have a an idea what may be causing this severe shimmy???

You could have lateral run out on a wheel or tyre. Try rotating front to rear. Putting the spare on teh front will also help, spares never get damaged so are usually the best rim on the car.
Is it a high frequency shimmy, very fast? If so, look at tie rod ends, steering rack ends and steering rack secured to chassis properly.
If lower frequency, look at lower control arm bushings or radius rod bushings if you have them.
If it's under power, also suspect poor strut damping or strut top bushes, and even a worn engine mount can set up a torque whip in a driveshaft that feels like a front end problem.
Regards, Andrew.
