Storage Advice
Any advice for storing my Volo for about 2 years. We might be stationed out of the country and can not take the car with us...My mother offered to keep it if this happens..thank GOD she is in Ocala FL so she is near Tech.
BUT she does not have a garage....should I rent one? What is the least amount she can drive it with out damage.....should she take on a long drive every once in awhile?..or keep it to just starting it? and changing the oil...will the tires rot?

RE: Storage Advice
My dad has a 79 TransAM that just sits in his garage. It starts right up when he gets around to starting it. I would think two years won't hurt the car (aslongas your mom starts it), andsince you saidyour mom will drive it, you should have no problems. I would tell her to drive it atleast once a month.

RE: Storage Advice
Pesonally, I would try and take it out about every two weeksor so, around the block or a quick run to the store. It might depend on tires, but I notice that if my tires are not quite at the right psi and it sits for about a week, I get flat spots. They go away after a mile or two, but I would think it would be worse if you let it go for a month or so. Besides,I would think with all the electronics and letting it sit for more than a month, it would eventually start to kill the battery in newer Volvos.
Heck, she might want drive it more, it looks like an R
And Florida seems to have beautiful car washes. If it's going to sit outside and can't be covered, I would take it to a car wash when it needs it.
Just my 2cents. And be safe, where ever you're going
