Default thinking of buying an s60

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I don't own a volvo yet. I drive a 2003 blazer and I'm trying to find something with better than 16-18 mpg.. I've been looking at s60s and my price range is 5-6k, so it would be an early one.. I was looking at getting one with a turbo.. I was just wondering if you guys had anything I should know about these cars, and advice or tips.. also any real world mileage numbers.. and finally id like to know if they are reliable. Thanks in advance guys

Welcome to VF. I would get a non-AWD turbo model. The worst fuel number I saw in the city with my S60R was 18 MPG and that car had well over 400 HP. On the highway i averaged around 26 MPG. The non-AWD model will get a couple more miles to the gallon because my S60R had AWD.

so your saying i would at least get 20 mpg city without driving like a lead foot? i drive almost exclusively city, and i dont really step on the gas much. i just want the turbo to know that the powers there when i want it, lol. and hows the reliability on these engines? also, im pretty sure they take premium gas, and probably synthetic oil, or is that just a "guideline"
