Timing Belt

Timing Belt
Hello All,
I own a 2004 Volvo s60 2.4ltr . I'm not sure if the Volvo had the 105,000 timing belt replaced. Is there a easy way to look in there and see the condition of the timing belt to see if it has any cracks in it or not. A belt not changed by 116,000 miles I would think would have cracks in it if it by then and would be able to tell if it's newer or older.. Am I correct in this assumption. Thank you, Bill

I have to agree with rspi on this one , it would be to hard to tell visually if it was going to fail anytime soon just by looking at the belt while it is installed. If you can see any cracks by inspecting it by all means change it, but just don't think because you look at it and don't see cracks that it won't fail. Thats not a chance worth taking.Once you remove a belt you can fold it over and see cracks that you never would have seen unless you folded it over.
