tinted window question
i have a 98 v70 wagon. got my windows tinted yesterday. the long back windows and back gate window have defroster strips so they black borders. the black stuff with the dots. i don't know how better to explain those borders. anyway, the installer told me that the film wouldn't stick to those dots/black borders and it sure didn't, so i've got 1/2" border of unstuck film on my 3 back windows.
so my question is:
Does anybody know how to get window film to stick to the black borders of my back 3 windows?
I was thinking about using liquid hairspray. that would make it stick, and keep stuck after it dries as opposed to the soapy water they used that doesn't retain its surface tension when it dries away. just don't know how it would look.
Ideas?
so my question is:

I use to tint inside the dots but did not on my 850 and it stuck well. Then a tint shop did my 960 a few weeks ago and all went well with it as well. They tinted the painted area as well and it is holding fine. Maybe it's the type of tint they used or just did not clean the glare paint well.
