Default Tire cupping

On my 2007 V70 2.5T I got 5 months ago all four tires are cupped and they make an annoying rumbling noise. The car's got 39k mi so I guess the tires are original. They are Michelins. I searched the Internet and found the most common cause for tire cupping is worn suspension parts. I'd guess the mileage is a bit low to have worn suspension and the dealership also checked and said all parts are fine. They said the toe alignment was out and they corrected it but didn't think that was the cause of the cupping. Their theory for the cupping was lack of rotation. However, the Carfax info showed the car to be a lease and was taken back to the dealership (not my local dealership) for regular service and I suppose tire rotation was done. The tires are in balance because I don't feel any vibration. So it's a mystery. I don't want to put on a set of new tires and have the same problem again.

My brother said that the dealership also told him that the tires on his '07 XC70 were "out of shape". His mileage is really low, maybe 20k.

Is this a common problem for Volvos?

i don't see too many cupping on a p2 v70 or xc70. i don't think it is a common problem. most of the cupping problems i seem is the brand of tires. or an alignment problems, in some rare cases may be suspension

Someone could have run that car off the road, over a curb, into a ditch, etc. Michelin's are awsome tires in most cases. I would think it has damaged/bent suspension parts.

There is a '95, T-5R in the town next to mine. The guy has S90 wheels all the way around the thing. Rumor has it that he was racing, went around a corner and up on a curb. Knocked all 4 wheels off the car. I would bet he has cupping problems as well.
