Default Tire noise

Wife hit pothole and had to get new rims and tires for my 2019 xc60. It’s seems to be the same tires however, driving their is more road noise and the tires sound hollow when I bang on them compared to the old ones that are in the back. do they need to be broken in? It sounds like a hollow sounds when I drive. Weird. Brought back to Volvo they checked everything and it’s all good just wondering

My guess is that is normal.

I've never heard of a tire needing to be broken in,

And, the new lower profile tires are more susceptible to rim damage.
