yes, i've done a search and there's mention of tirerack.com every now and then but i didn't find anything where someone has actually purchased wheels and/or tires from them.

i'm considering a package deal with wheels and tires for my '96 850 that comes out to less than $700. which is way better than my local tire guy that i've dealt with for years can do.

wondering if there's a catch.

 

I've used Tirerack several times. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I actually had a tire fail (sidewall bubbled due to a pothole) and they honored the replacement insurance quickly and no questioned asked. When you get only tires you need to find your own installer but the wheel packages come ready to bolt on the car (ie mounted, balanced, TPS installed if needed). The catch is you pay for shipping - unless you can drive over to one of their pick up locations. Where are you located?

I buy unmounted tires, and I've always been happy with them.

 

I think I have used them for over a decade now. I have never had a bad experience whether it was buying sets of wheels with tires, just tires, or just wheels.
