I bought a trip computer/harness/"INFO" switch combo from someone on eBay. The switch is more squared in shape compared to the other rounded switches in my 1995 850 GLT. The back says Volvo 3523260 and ALPSJapan 4970. Is this just an older OEM switch or a replacement part? (I have heard the switches can go bad after a while.) If it isa more desireable part, I will keep it - if not I would like to know so I can justify buying another one that matches the rest on the dashboard. Thanks

 

That part number was used from 1992 - 1994.

From 1995 on the part number is 9128543

I picked-up a newer switch to match the others, installed it and the instrument display - they work like a charm.

Is the switch supposed to be backlit because mine isn't.

 

I did the same install into my 97 and the switch on mine is not backlit. The display is but the actual switch with dial is not.
