Default Turn off lights on 2002 S60

As most owners are aware, Volvo headlights and taillights are always on when the car is running. Is there any way to change this on a 2002 S60? I have tried the standard trick of pulling the high-beam lever when the parking lights are on. That doesn't work. There is no little screw beside the light switch either. I have seen that only dealers can make this change, but I have called two of them, one in SC, the other in VA,, and both said the computer mod that used to work for this purpose doesn't any more. Any suggestions?

The dealer needs to do it. I'm not aware of us not being able to do so anymore, but I haven't had a customer with that request in a very long time.

Thanks. If I hear that some dealers are still able to do it, I may ask my local dealer to try to find out what they need to do to get the computer mod to work.

All dealers have the same capabilities. It comes down to whether the function to allow us to change programming in the light switch was removed from the software we use or not. I don't see why it would have been removed though.

I'm going to be working on a 2004 soon. I'll check it out with that car.

On the 2004, it can be changed. The way it is incorporated into the software has changed though.

The tech needs to go to Vehicle Communication>CEM>Programmed Values>Daytime run-light and change the drop down selection under New Value from flexnoll to flexstd and click Program.

Many thanks. I'll copy this info and ask my dealer if he's willing to try it.
