Default Is a used Volvo right for me?

Hello, I am trying to decide whether or not to buy a Volvo to replace my aging Toyota Camry (with over 300k trouble free miles).

I used to own a 1988 Saab...amazing car, but some quirks now and then left me stranded.

Fast forward to now...I'm really missing the Swede in my life. Seeing that Saab is no more, I will be getting a new (used) car in the next 3-4 months.

Most likely it will be an late model Volvo (2007 or so) s60 or s80. It's the only Swede left.

Now, I don't expect a Volvo to be as reliable as my Toyota, but I am getting a new job soon, and I cannot afford to have my car not start up in the morning or break down. I know no one can guarantee that...but I really need the honest truth as to whether the Volvo will be a headache.

I am willing to do any and all preventative maintenance necessary. I'm not a gear head by any means, will probably find a good Volvo mechanic.

Any advice is appreciated. Anything I should look for in a used Volvo? Any models I should avoid? Is 70k miles too much for 2007 s60?

Thanks!

I bought my second Volvo 6 months ago my XC90 replaced my S 40

Both cars exceeded my expectations, and my next car will be a Volvo too.;-)

Find one you really like have it checked out and make the purchase.

Good Luck

A very good website is carsurvey.org. People post thoughts about theirs cars in short reviews broken down by model and by year. You can start to see recurring issues. It is a REALLY good website.

You can read reviews on www.Cars.com. I wouldn't get concerned about a Volvo till 10 years and 150,000.
