If you can do so safely, visually inspect the CV-joint boots for torn. Make sure to:

- Keep the engine off.
- Place shifter in "P".
- Engage parking brakes.
- Chock the wheels.

Usually, a failing CV-joint is noticed by torn boots & "clicking" noise at turns. Something else may be failing so I would remove the wheel and do a visual inspection. Is the PWS fluid level normal? Do you feel any feedback from the steering wheel? In the case of 850s, sometimes the steering stops seem to cause this type of noise.
