Volvo 850, obscure window regulator roller question
Working on drivers door window to replace broken roller regulators. On my car, '95, the front roller appears to rest captured in the front roller channel by a shiny steel plate behind the roller that fits to the back of the channel with tabs on the plate running through holes in the back-plate of the channel. Appears to limit travel of the roller. Guys at the independent Volvo shop don't recognize the part. I don't think it got there by itself. My question is, there are inward facing tabs on that shiny plate, towards the rear of the plate, that the roller wheel fits right over, there is also a forward space on the shiny plate where the roller could rest and still have limits on its fore and aft travel. Which is the correct placement position for the roller? Really doubt I'll get an answer to this as it's "obscure".
