I'm a first time Volvo owner ,and very happy to be one finally ...

but lately have been noticing ,getting dirty looks from some other drivers on the road.... I bought my 04 S80 because they are built like tanks and have a
high safety rating and the price was right $1900.00 ....

was getting tired of the GM cars falling apart on me....

So is just me or do some people really have a problem ....?

 

People are giving you dirty looks and you think its because you drive a Volvo? I'd bet most people on the road don't care what other people are driving.

I wouldn't think it's the car. That particular car is pretty innocuous.

 

was just curious , realized I have bigger issues with the car...
dealing with a trans leak and a srs message .... it's mentioned under the s80
topics in this forum ....

 

When I give someone a dirty look, its because of how they drive, not what they drive. If you're driving around like its a race car or blasting music, that's probably the issue.

 

It was so cool, stopped for gas in a small town the other day, another guy pulled in behind me seconds later. Attendant refused to turn on pump until he turned off his radio. After a bit of bantering he finally left.....You dont wanna hear my music, I dont wanna hear yours. There is a time to turn it down, in public, in my neighborhood, and before your speakers rattle.

 

I don't drive like a maniac , there are already too many people out there that do that
already as they are glued to their cell phones , and if I pull into a business or quiet
neighborhood I do turn down my music ,,
anyway realized , those few people did know me and were surprised that I got a Volvo
after having a few bad years of money problems,
anyways was just misinterpreted perception on my part...

didn't think I would get this much replies on this topic
as I really needed mechanical advice on my other threads , and get no replies...

 

I agree. Who has time/energy to concern themselves with what others drive?

Probably some other reason for the dirty looks, if they are indeed dirty looks.
