After talking about the love I have and have had for my Volvo's, I could not help but start this thread.

I had a VOLVO 740 GLE that we named - Grace, because it was so graceful.

I had a Volvo 262 C Bertone that we named - Gramps, because it was older and sometimes cranky.

I have a Volvo 960 that we call the Green Goblin, only because of the color.

We got my daughter a Volvo S70 that has been called by many Little Red, because of it's color and they are both little.

I have a Yellow 850 R Volvo that my wife named My Precious, because she could not imagine anyone flying to another state to purchase a car that is yellow.

Like T5_Driver, I normally just call my S70 GLT THE S70 or mention it as "my precious"...but I should give it a proper name.

We trombone nerds have a tendency to name our trombones, I've heard: Beast, Laverne, Shirley...and I'm thinking of calling my bass trombone "Titan" and I still need to come up with one for my peashooter tenor.

 

Fast yellow and everyone knows why!!! LOL

 

I call mine "Evolve". I just bought some Evolve decals that look good on these cars. Will post pictures soon.

 

I just call mine "The 850", it just works. Although I've had some people call it Frankenstein because it's a brick. Not sure about the name, but I take the brick aspect as a compliment.

 

My Volvo has the same name as 98_S70_T5_Driver; The Volvo. Around town its was one of the first. So, even though other people have volvos, mine is The Volvo. All my friends know that...

 

Lola. Idk, my sister named it.

 

mine's name is yuki. dunno why i picked it a long time ago.

 

I haven't named a vehicle since years ago when I had an old Jeep that would give me trouble, I named it "Contemptible B!+ch"

I eventually stopped calling it that because I kept confusing the Jeep with my ex-wife


We pick up our 08 S60 tonight. I doubt that it will get any name other than "the car" or "the Volvo", unless my wife names it. It will be her DD.

My DD is an 05 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The build code on that model is LJ.
Since it's the stretched version, a buddy named it "Limo-Jeep"
It's not a name I'd have picked, but it seems to have stuck, especially in my Jeep crowd

 

Mine doesn't have a name but I do refer to "her" or "She"

 

Must just be a great name for a Volvo. My 05 S40 is Lola. Lola Sophia if she starts to get cranky (so far I haven't had to use the middle name...) I also had a friend in high school who had a 240 named Lola.
