Where to buy brake booster?
Hey everyone!
I'm a member of couple other car forums and am here doing a bit of research for a family member.
After searching this site, the "hissing" noise coming from the brake pedal is obviously a bad brake booster [2002 S60 AWD is the vehicle in question] (thanks for the DIY write-up TECH!).
My question is... Where would you suggest to be the best place to purchase a new brake booster? Thanks in advance for your help and happy motoring to all!

Hello Ren,
Greetings from Yokohama.
I did a bit of search, but for some reason no one seems to carry brake booster for S60. At this moment I'm assuming that it may be interchangeable with S40 or S70. You can do a further research on Google, but in case if you couldn't find one on-line, visit a dealer's parts dept and let them show you the booster and seeif you can read the OEM stamp off the booster (I assume it's ATE), then you can narrow down your search.

In case nothing works, you could either try a junkyard or bite the bullet and buy it from a dealer. If you plan to keep your car for more than 3 years, though, I wouldn't buy a used booster because the quality/reliability is unknown.
I wish you the best of luck, sorry I couldn't help you much.
