This is why you should DIY!

JL employees not doing the work -- that's a good thing. I wouldn't let them 100 feet near my car.
I admit, I used them once, maybe 1999 or 2000 for an oil change when I was traveling, and the only thing I liked is that they had a free car wash.
If I am taking my car to the mechanic (which is very rare), I will only take it to shops that will allow me in the bay, and under the car to look while their mechanics are doing the work. I could care less about their insurance. Yep, there are those who let you.

I let them change my oil in my 740 ONCE. Did I say ONCE? They broke the oil sending unit after I specifically told them they had to install the filter from the bottom. Cost them $158.
I try my best to do my own work because I know it's done right and if something else is wrong along the way I know it. The bigest example of that is the timing belts to me. When you drop the car off they give you a choice, do you want the other things changed or not? Well heck, what's wrong with them going in there, seeing a bad or worn roller and replacing it? If you say no, most will change the belt and not tell you that it has a bad roller. Just button it up and let you roll out there only to break the belt in 10,000 miles.
Sad but some of those people are lucky that they paid for a tranny flush that was NOT done. Count your blessings.
