Will You Help Me Pick Out A Volvo?
I did a little research, read wiki and some threads here on this site but could still use some help. I think I might just list what I am looking for in a car and if you feel up to it you can tell me which one to look for. Also I would like to keep this below $4000.
This list is somewhat prioritized and I ask some questions as examples of part of what I might find helpful.
1. I must have a wagon that has back seats that fold down where I can sleep in the back (6 to 6.5 feet of flat surface if they come that long).
2. Most dependable Volvo. I know that newer is more dependable just because it is less worn but I am interested in comparisons of different models and engine/drive-train options of equal age. Does the turbo make the engine more or less dependable? I like a good strait six, does Volvo make a dependable one?
3. Easiest to diagnose problems and perform work on. I think the rear wheel drive Volvo is easier to work on but I would like your opinion. Which years had computers that stored codes?
4. Gas mileage. Does the turbo help or hurt mileage?
5. Afordability and availability of parts. Maybe they are all the same, I don't know.
6. Auto locking differential. Might come in handy or it might get me into trouble or maybe it is junk and I don't want it you tell me.
7. Power. If it can hang with my 89' Toyota Camry 4 cylinder that is good enough for me.
8. Everything else like handling, safety, looks, comfort, power options, heated seats are not that important but feel free to comment on them if you like.
Any and all comments/suggestions/advice will be appreciated.
