Question Window Motor Replacement

(1998 Volvo S70 GLT)

I am replacing the driver door window motor. I have taken off the door panel and now I am at the point where I have unscrewed all of the screws on the metal plate that holds the window motor.

What should I do now? Do I have to take the metal plate off completely? If so, how would I do that? There doesnt seem to be an obvious way to detach the plate.

I would REALLY appreciate any advise on this matter. Thanks!

Once you remove all the screws the plate should work out.

Tech,

I have to say... Ive been watching this forum for a few weeks now. Ive been amazed on how throughly and quickly you reply. Ive seen you help numerous people with tons of stuff. I appreciate the advise and Ill try working that plate out. Seems to be attached to something- which is preventing me from pulling the plate off. But Im heading to my garage... and will try again. Thanks!

There is a big gear back there you have to play with it to get it out.
Really you need to be able to work the motor and move it up and down while trying to work it out. But if it does not work at all you have to play with it.
