Default Would you buy this volvo?

Looking for my first Volvo and found a potential XC90 to purchase

77k miles, $19000, V8, well equipped.

Here's my worry from the Carfax report:
It's had various things checked (windows, sunroof, driveshaft) but not replaced. Is this just a history of normal checks and maintenance?

It has also had "driveability / performanced checked" at 75k miles. Is this normal, or is it indicative that something isn't right with the car.

It has had the steering column replaced and body electrically wiring repaired lately.

I plan on test driving it later this week, but the carfax and the low price have me scratching my head.

Any thoughts or advice for this potential first timer?

You should better get it checked via an expert technician. Any other guesses in the air might end up in getting you a bad deal.

Dumb question, but do you think I should take it to a Volvo dealer to have it checked? Or do you think they'll just try to steer me towards on of their cars?

Those are just a generic descriptions for varioslus services that show up on a Carfax. If it says where those things were performed, you could call there and see what was done.

A dealer will look at it, I've done plenty of prepurchase inspections. I would only steer someone away from the car if I found some serious issues.

What year is the truck?

You should take it to a car inspector that has nothing to profit from working on it. If you take it where the person gets it serviced at, they may tell you all is fine just to cover their butts.

It doesn't sound like you have much to worry about in the purchase, however, I would get it looked at by a third part mechanic. The price seems reasonable though.
