Default Best performance upgrades

After getting a 2006 S60R I want some more go to it

On Viva Performance I was thinking about getting the TME cat-back exhaust paired with the 3inch downpipe on the site. Also I would consider getting a software upgrade. Now they don't have a complete intake system on this site but I have seen others on other sites. Now should I just get the K&N filter or should I spend the extra money and get a full system?

A full 3" mandrel bent Turboback exhaust and a ECU upgrade are completely worth it. And purchasing them from IPD USA or RICA (VivaPerformance) is perfectly good. You'll spend the cash, but you'll get a legit product that works and is built properly.

As for the intake system. Unless your going full Cold Air Intake there is no reason to go with one of the various SRI's (Short Ram Intakes) that are out on the market. Your still pulling in hot air from the engine bay with these. So I would just go with a K&N panel filter or other performance filter. Not going to net you big gains with just that but it is better then a stock paper filter. Just remember to not over oil it.

Thanks! I'm still deciding if I should just get a turboback exhaust with a tune and upgraded filter or get a downpipe with that also.

First thing, the tune comes last, do everything before it. Second, why does everybody hate doing custom exhaust? they are literally half the price for the same product, just run a Magnaflow or Borla muffler set.

A lot of people don't have access to a qualified person to make said exhaust. There are not a lot of mandrel benders out there that do the work in a lot of areas. And for the most part they only have access to people that can do crush bends.

Yeah yeah yeah you can buy the piping online and have it shipped and have a qualified welder do the work. I know I know I know. I'm just telling you why.

FYI I have a few mandrel benders in the area... I asked and it was just going to be about the same $800 for a downpipe and around the same for the catback system.

Wow expensive out there. I got quoted for a 3inch catback at 285 with a flowmaster muffler at the end.

Mandrel bends? Or crush bends? What were they using to create the pipes with? Aluminum, SS, Aluminized Steel....

If you are really looking for a good tune I would go with hilton, they have the best volvo tunes and have different stages to fit your needs.
