Does anyone know where I can buy the cupholder for the hole in the Dashboard without spending $45. Is there any other accessory that goes in that hole? The used car salesman that I bought the car from tried to tell me that the hole was for large oversized European cell phones. What a liar... Any help would be nice. Thanks.

 

Either a cupholder or a Cubby goes in the hole.

are we talking about the cubby to the left of the head unit, or the mesh area where the GPS system would go on top of the dash?

If we're talking about the mesh area, I would be interested in a cubby there. Where would one buy this insert?

 

I think volvo really screwed up by placing the cupholders in the center dash near the radio..it looks awefull and if your drink spills there goesyour electronics..

 

Thee phone padunit that the used car salestalk about is true.. but only for vehicle with Volvo on Call plus... (not available anymore since lack of need for the service). U can put a cup holder there but they break too often + liquid and radio don't mix well ... Volvo have one of the worst cup holder locations...(According to Volvo no one in Europe will take coffee inside car... they will finished the coffee before driving a car)

 

Its the "cubby" to the left of the head unit... the mesh on the top of the dash is actually the main speaker in your stereo system.

 

Has no one ever solved the cup holder issue? There must be some aftermarket solution that isn't ridiculous.

 

There are 4 possiblities for that space, that I'm aware of.

1. The standard cubby hole with rubber floor.
2. Same as 1, but with sliding door.
3. Cupholder
4. Phonepad (with 'on call' button).

Also worth noting...this part is a lot of work to change.
