mouse smell
My son-in-law bought a car inhabited by mice. I removed the seats and carpet, cleaned them and vacuumed nearly 10 lbs of grain and one mouse from the space within the body of the car and wheel wells. I washed the carpet and now I need to know how to get rid of the remaining smell. The car is in great shape as it was owned by an old lady who never drove the car. It just sat in her barn, being a hotel to mice.
I don't think masking the smell will do, I must kill the smell somehow.
Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks

RE: mouse smell
Ok. I bought new padding to go under the carpet and a product that claims will eliminate pet odors with enzimes. And no, the mice are not pets, at least in this car.[&:] Tomorrow I will saturate the offending openings and reassemble the car. Will keep you posted as to my success or failure.
Thanks for your suggestion. I may end up having it done professionally if this doesn't work.

RE: mouse smell
When you remove the carpet, take a power leaf blower and blow out all the cavities that you will find. I would not be surprised if you did not find that the mice were in the trunk and between panels that are between the sheet metal of the body and the sides of the trunk and etc. Were the mice in the dash also?? You may have a tough time.................
