Default 1990 240 Rattling sound when breaking. Help?

Hi!

I own a 1990 Volvo 240 sedan with approx. 280,000 km's. I'm not very car savvy, but I'm trying to learn so please bare with me here. The last day when I've been driving, there's been an intermittent rattling noise on my car coming from the rear right side. The only time I hear the noise is when I'm applying the breaks softly on a LEFT-HAND turn. I poked my head under the car to see if anything was obviously loose, but couldn't see anything glaring. Once again, I know pretty much nothing about cars, so I'm no expert down there. It seems like it's related to the back wheel somehow because the noise is a consistent rattle and only when breaking. I'm just wondering if anyone out there might have had any experience with the (sorry, pretty) vaguely described sound?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you

Default Update on noise

Ok, so the noise is still just coming from the rear right side and it's intermittent and sounds like a metal shopping cart going over bumpy cement and then when braking and going left it makes a tin cans dragging behind a car sound...anyone have any light to shed?

Thank you!
