Default 1998 Volvo S70-GLT Grinding / Vibration.

Recently had front brakes, half shafts, ball joints, tie rods, control arm replaced on Volvo S70. Getting a grinding noise from the passenger side when braking or turning (sounds like bad rotors, but they are new). Took the vehicle into my mechanic but all checks out fine, all suspension brake parts tight per mechanic. They believe it's a vibration from the engine but they are not familiar enough with Volvo to identify the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
124,000 on the clock would love 200,000+++

you can inspect the motor mounts with an assistant. First do a visual on the upper torque rod bushing (the one above the turbo air tube). Then with the car running have your assistant "power brake" - ie car in gear, press the brake pedal firmly with your left foot and press the gas gently with the right to add revs to the engine (ahem not with the car pointed at you or a garage door...) to see if the engine rocks or lifts up.

I'd also check out the wheel bearings in the front. They typically make noise that varies with road speed (ie 20-30 MPH) and can get louder when turning (when the bad bearing is the outside wheel - ie turning right puts more pressure on the left wheel, thus making the groan louder.

If the noise changes with the brake pedal then they should remove the pads, regrease the pins, check for dirt or score marks on the rotors. Some rough sandpaper (ie 200 grit) to deglaze the rotor and pad can help if that's the cause.
