Default 1999 S70 GLT AWD Owner-New To Site

Hey All

Me and my white 99 S70 AWD GLT just joined the forum. Looking for some help w/some different maintenance issues on the car from replacing light bulbs to an engine ticking noise. The site has been hugely helpful so I thought it might be good to become a member. Thanks for all the tech expertise and if there are any other Air Force Volvo lovers or anyone else that wants to chat, shoot me a line.

You do know about the ETM issue. If you haven't replaced it, you will. It is just a matter of time. Only VOLVO can fix it, and it will run around $1k to be fixed.

Light bulb replacement is really easy. For the low beams, you just un screw the backs of them, and pull them bulb out by pressing in two wire tab like objects and then slip the bulb out, and do the reverse to install the new one and put it back in. Took me about 5 minutes, because the tabs were a bitch on mine.

I have a 1999 S70 awd as well, white too. Your rims look different, and you have a wing.

Are you looking for perofrmance parts as well?

Check engine light on. No throttle when your foot is on the brake. Up and down idle/Jumpy idle.

Thanks tech, my son thinks it is the ets light, but not sure, he says it goes on and off. Of course he does not pay muc attention he only drives it back and forth to school, why should he care...... He has said the car is not running right like it feels like it needs a tune up maybe.

ETS= Electronic Throttle System.
Most likely a bad throttle body.
