First message, hullo from Dubai</P>


I have a very small leak in the headgasket, too small to see acccording to service people but they insist I need a new one, machine the head, etc etc. 7 days work,US$1700.</P>


Blamed on the aluminium head, also a liquid not a solid gasket used. Engine has not overheated, goes from max to min in the coolant reservior in around 7-10 days. Has anyone tried these liquid gasket products that are sold, designed to stop this type of very small leak? I will be selling the car in 6 months so do not wantto spend the money if I do not have to</P>
