Default 2001 s40

Hey guys !

Ive just been given a 2001 s40 volvo turbo. Sweet ride, almost no kilometres on it only problem is the turbo leaks a bit of oil. The previous owner told me it leaks a few drops only and that all I have to do it add a bit of oil once in a while. Now I know nothing of cars except changing tires which I had to learn one night along the highway on a cold Canadian night lol. My question for you guys is where do I add the oil for the turbo? Is it where the engine oil goes or is it a different compartment? I want her to keep her running as smooth as possible for as long as possible any info would be of huge help. Thank you and happy holidays

turbos have an oil line that goes from the block to the turbo and a return line back. If you are leaking oil externally, its possibly one of the gaskets, a simple repair. as far as your question on the oil, fill from the top and check the dipstick periodically -like every gas fill up until you get a sense for how frequent to add.
