Default 2006 Volvo V70 driver side low beam out

I needs some help. I have a 2006 V70. I have a low beam out on the driver's side. It went out and I replaced it. A few weeks later it went out again this time the socket it plugs into was burnt. So I replaced it. Now I have no power to it. I checked the fuse. It was fine. I am at a loss

In some Volvos - if the CEM thinks there is a short to a bulb - A code will be set, and will not send power until the code is read and erased. Think of it as a circuit breaker, and the only way to reset it - is to read and erase the code in the CEM.

Default CEM Reset

How do I reset the CEM? Do I plug in withy code reader and erase the code? I really appreciate your response and help with this. I know if I took it to a shop they would charge me a huge amount. I took it in to have them look at a taillight and they wanted over $400 to fix it. I declined and replaced the upper taillight assembly for $75 from eBay.

1. Use a compatible scan tool to read and erase codes in the CEM

2. There's always a cheaper way
