I apologize if I'm not posting this in the right area; however I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction or help me out. We recently purchased a 2022 XC40 and just noticed the audible alarm for the seatbelt does NOT go off when not not clipped in. I found the post where various users are having the opposite issue but none where no audible alert/alarm sounds. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Volvo does not have a continuous or timed audible fasten your seat belt warning. None of my Volvos have ever had. My current 2002 xc, 2015 xc70, and 2020 xc60 do not. And none of the thousands of Volvos my shop worked on from 1980 to 2018 had a continuous or timed warning that stayed on until an occupied seat had the belt buckled. .

 

Ahhhhh!!!! We didn't know that and it was never pointed out! In this day and age you would think they would have the continuous alert like other makes of vehicles. Thank you very much for quick reply!!!

 

It's a feature I really like - being able to move cars into the shop without the car dinging at you, or drive from the mailhouse the 150 yards back to the carport with just 1 audible warning and a red light on the dash. .
