3rd volvo. first time here
just bought a 1988 740 gle sedan. 500 bucks. a hair over 200k. needs a patch here and this there but overall isnt bad at all. hopefully you guys can help me with finding cheap parts and how to do some of the repairs myself.

You may not want to cheap out on Volvo parts. If you plan to keep your Volvo for a while, it pays to spend extra to go with OEM parts. We here often buy parts from FCP Groton or eEuroparts, and other shops. They sell OEM parts for about 20-30% less than what the dealers would charge.
Make sure to follow scheduled maintenance.
