Default about to get me a volvo!

hey guys, im a college kid that currently drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Its got a V8 with a intake, exhaust cutout and a Jet performance chip...it can move. The only problem is if i wanna get moooovin it drops my MPG to like 12. My mother has a S60 and is taking my jeep away and giving me that car in hope of keeping my gas costs down. And its possible that the jeep will just get sold and i might get a car in trade in or just keep the volvo.

I was wondering what some simple/inexpensive mods are? I prefer performance mods, but exterior mods are good too!....

thanks guys! any help is greatly appreciated!!

There are plenty of upgrades if it is a turbo. You can re chip, do exhaust work, work on the suspension (lower, stiffer sway bars, etc.). One thing though, it ain't gonna be cheap![8D]

Welcome to the forum. Since it is AWD I do believe it has the turbo engine. LPT of course (Low Pressure Turbo). Which should be the 13g turbo from Mitsubishi.

1. STAGE ZERO needs to be done to ensure everything you add to your car wont harm it. Also it gets the car up and running better then it is before you start modding.

2. A ECU upgrade will be the biggest improvement overall. Will add the most Hp.

3. A downpipe is the next thing that will add the most Hp. 3" mandrel bent is the way you want to go.

4. Next would be a 2.5" mandrel bent catback system with a free flowing muffler such as a BORLA or Magnaflow. Why not 3" mandrel bent, because your not upgrading your turbo to something bigger thusly 2.5" will suffice.

5. Next would be an intake. Your stock intake is actually the best setup. EST makes an intake kit but it isn't as good as your stock intake.

Also nothing is cheap for Volvo's in the aftermarket world.

a. ECU upgrade, $325-$1200
b. Downpipe, $300-$1500
c. Catback exhaust, $300-$700+
d. Intake, (Panel filter $50, EST intake like $200)

I'm not into mods but am here to remind people of scheduled maintenance.
