I'm not a new member, but I haven't been around since we sold our '97 850 GLT in 2009-ish. The happy news is, I'm coming back with an 855R.

Should be picking it up at some point this week. It's a little rough around the edges, but it's going to make an outstanding daily driver, one that I won't have to worry about like I would if it were cherry.

I'm buying it from a friend who has gone through and done the timing belt service, CV axles, PCV system, given it a mechanical bill of health and he's done a fantastic job shining up the outside and cleaning the inside. He likes his cars uber clean and this isn't quite up to his standards, so I'm happy to take it off his hands.

The front air dam is cracked to pieces, but it's all there. It could use new fogs when that's fixed. Wheels could use a refinish but are originals, and it needs a DS rocker. Other than that, I'm super happy with it and so very much looking forward to owning a Volvo again!

 

Volvo didn't work out. I couldn't bring myself to cause a loss to a friend. He's put a lot of time and money into it so he should get to enjoy it. We both agreed that it made the most sense.

I didn't get a Volvo, but I didn't stray too far out of Scandinavia. . . ha!
