Default Extended Warranty from Endurance

I have a 2016 XC90 plugin hybrid. After 4 years my warranty is expiring and I only have just under 33,000 miles. The car is really too big for me and hard to climb into. I am going to lend it to my son who drives 20,000 miles a year. Consumer Reports gives a poor reliability rating, it has already had one potentially expensive elective transmission replacement, and it is such a complicated vehicle that I am considering getting an extended warranty. Volvo charges a large upfront sum, and you have to know how many years you want it. I have done online research on extended warranties from third parties; many are scams. One company got a good review from BBB and TrustPilot, and is said to be good for Volvo’s, but I can’t find anyone who has used it. Endurance. It allows monthly payments and cancellation. Is it legit? It allows both Volvo and ASE certified repairs. Have you used Endurance or know anyone who has?

Suggest checking this topic in Swedespeed, as well. VIP and Geico are, at least, 2 other plan sources. However, considering that your son drives 20k miles annually, if it were me, I'd sell the XC90, and give him the money for use in buying a more reliable and economical vehicle. IMO, particularly in your son's case, you may not be doing him a favor by passing your XC90 to him.

FYI, I'm a V90 owner, so I'm not anti-Volvo.

Check out Steingold here in the forum for their pricing for the OEM Volvo extended warranty. I don't have experience with them but their pricing is very reasonable. I prefer OEM warranty vs aftermarket.

Default Respond to Question about Endurance

I had the extended policy with Endurance. I had already exceeded the 30 days and 1000 mile waiting period and had an axle fail and had to have my 2013 Volvo xc-90 towed to the Volvo dealer about 30 miles away. They denied my claim saying it had already been failing??? One Rep had the nerve to ask me if it was new, and this happened 33 days later would it not have been failing before you had to walk. What a question? They did my Grandson the same way. They said his transmission had been failing for some time. WHY DO YOU BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IF EVERTHING IS FAILING FROM THE TIME IT IS NEW????
I would never useEndurance again if it was only $10 per month.
