Hey all! Just want to say a quick hello and introduction. Picked up my first car, a ‘98 S90 with the NA 2.9l i6 - B6304S, guy selling gave me a great deal for my first car, and I got it for 1600 CAD @ 213k km.
I’m not yet fully licensed, but that means I’ve got about 6 months (Unfortunately most of them winter months) to get her going some.
She got a timing belt 5k km ago and I heard those are a big thing for the whiteblocks. I’m going to change all fluids, and do a much needed control arm and probably brakes all around before winter.
Once all the needs are done, I’m hoping to see what mods I can do for the B6304S to get power back closer to factory numbers and maybe custom intake/exhaust to get more out of it. We will see what I end up deeming necessary as I experience more of the car.
One question I do have, does anybody have any tips for winter outdoor storage, maybe specific to this era of Volvo? I have done some searches, but beyond normal winter prepping a car to sit, anything anyone would like to chime in with? Even any tips in general for a new owner?
I love these big front ends. bumper paint has seen better days, chrome strip all but white/clear plastic now Driver seat stuck one side, I’ll have to trim one of those pesky motor cable housings, do a touch up on all the loose interior parts one spot of visible rust behind front wheel, plan to repair. Under carriage looks pretty great.
