First time volvo owner
Hi everyone,
Just bought a '92 940 for my daughter with 145K on it. We should be getting it in about a week. This is our first Volvo in the family. Sounds and looks great!
I'm an old motor head and in the past have owned such different Euro cars as the Fiat X19, Peugeot MI 16, VW GTI, Audi 90 Quattro, Audi S6, as well as few Japanese cars. So I'm looking forward to the Volvo experience and maybe getting a used AWD to replace my wife's 160K Subaru Outback.
Any recommendations on used AWD models?
Many thanks for the helpful and friendly forum.

Welcome to the club
.
As to AWD cars, I would look for one that has full-time/real-time AWD. Part-time AWDs, especially those with electronic controls, seem to have very poor performance and by the time the rear wheels kick in, it is usually too late. I would also try to find one with LSD-Limited Slip Differential.
Best of luck,
JPN

Well now I went and bought my other daughter a 1996 850R wagon. It's a sweet ride... I guess I have a bit of Volvo fever. Next year I'm thinking of getting a used XC.
