what is with it. some people on here have like 86' 850 wangons, and 96 whatevers...guys...wtf man, those are not cool, they are not nice ! they are not bad ***. they are BOXES!!! and the turbo tech. in 86 was not that good. some of you guys are worse than those honda Civic rice guys. even they have nicer cars. i see very few ppl with newer than 2003 volvos on here. is it nothing but ricer volvos. i love my 2006volvoS40but come on.....its not fast, its stylish but not "bad ***" it even got the T5 engine with a 6-speed. IDK maybe ive just been aroung vettes and vipers too long. just left the pourche dealership, you guy that can actually affored one, go test a 2008 porche GT3 omg, i need wet myslef didnt get it tho. hehe i have a ticket problem...oopps FYI guys dont do 130mph in a 45mph...result isnt good....cop was nice tho.... hahah

 

Hi hunter, without being rude, have you ever thought they all like these boxes, or thats all they can afford?or like me owning a 1998 v70, yes i can go for a more expensive car, but i wouldnt in this day and age, cars over here in britain are not bringing in the money they deserve, we cant sell our 1998 v70s now for 700 pound. and when you think about it, all that car and the safety for 700 and no one wants to buy it, i will keep it until it runs to the ground or someone eventually buys it. bugger spending more money on somthing im going to lose more money on,have a good day. no nastiness intended.John.

 

Hunter...let me ask you a question. Why would I spend $75000+ on a car, when I wouldn't be able to drive it it with out have a sick feeling that I just wasted more money than some people make ina couple of yearson a car that I would have to pay a crap load of money just to insure, and have to be very carefullon where I park it so nobody would mess with. I mean not that some of those cars you mentioned arn't nice or anything like that, but once again...WHY would I spend $75000+ on a car, when I can go out and buy a 200/700 series "TURBOBRICK", put about $10000 into the WHOLE car, be able to chase down/beat any Porsche or Vette on the Track, Spend nothing on insurance, and have that little warm fuzzy feeling that I can take my whole family (when I have a family) on a trip and know that we are going to be SAFE. No offence, but those cars are for the guys who can afford them (and not to metion all the people who buy more then they make), but all it tells me is that....WHOA you can spend a S*** load of money on a car most of them can't even drive.The most money I would ever spend on a "showroom" carwould be $50,000-$70,000, but it would not be a Vette. Even if Imakethat kind of money where I could afford a $200,000 car.NOT to mention that most of those high preformance cars like the Vette and the Porsche are farily heavy. My car only weights 3000 with me in the car. If I where to gut it, It would only weight 2500 with me in the car. It would be sickening to see some spend $200,000 on a 3200-3800pound car like and gut it just to catch up to me in weight savings. Why do you think mostCar tuners turn towardsHondas, Because they are sodamn light.It all comes down to DRIVER SKILLs. Havea car just to say you have that car, or have something that has the "Sleeper" factor. I have said more than enough here, and I am sure any sane person would agree that a $15000 high preformance TURBOBRICK would beA LOTFASTER/CHEAPIER than a $75000 Vette or $200,000 GT3. Hell an A stock EVO or STI would be able tokeep up with those HIGH dollar cars. There is a lot more to a car than purchase Price...What about the total cost to maintain those cars.And Hondas are called ricers, because they are Asian built, and it is more of an insult. You can't call a Volvo a ricer, becuase it is Swedish. They are called "TurboBricks".

EDIT: on a side note....If you want to talk Preformance, you left out the best car. The Ultima GTR. that is the fastest car in the world and nothing can come close (well...only two cars can come close, but they are $1,000,000). The Ultima GTR fully built would cost the same as a new Vette ($70,000). Now I would buy/build that car in a heartbeat. Alos hosrepower dosen't win races. I have seen a 2600pound car with 290hp do the 1/4mile in 11 flat. Once again...DRIVER SKILLS. And who really cares that you got a speeding ticket for 130 in a 45 in a Blah car....MY stock 745t can do 130+mph if I wanted to, but I don't, because I "try" and OBEY the laws.That COPmust have been high or something, because even if you go 20mph over the speed limit is considered reckless driving and you should have been arrested, YOU did get LUCKY on that on.

Cost to hp ratio - My car 10K 300hp your car 70k 500hp, I guess I got a better deal. Hell if I spent $35k on my 98 s70 it would be faster than any viper and look way better. But since we are here to hate on box cars, well how about those ugly American classics....... =_=

Its funny that you mention civic's I hate them aswell, but have to give them credit, they can build some damn fast cars. 362hp from a car that weighs 2100lbs.........

Yeah I mainly love Volvos becuas no matter what I do to them...They will never die.
I wouldn't turn my car into a fully race car, but I can have enough power to out run those cars if I Had 10grand to blow.
I am doing little preformance upgrades as I go. And 250whp is pretty quick in a 200/700 series car

We don't mod them to race... well ok some do. I mod mine because I want it to be a bit faster, not porche like, but faster than stock. My goal is 325hp/250whp. At that pint its a fairly fast car with a nice leather interior that can hold all my friends. Not to mention we dont just mod engines. Next month I will be taking up the task of installing rear seat heat warmers like I have in the front so that in cold months people who get in the back dont have their bums frozen
