First Volvo
Hello-
I purchased a used 2000 S70 GTL SE. 94,000 miles on it. Reconstructed title from prior flood damage when it was only 11K old. Paid $5,500 which seemed like an ok deal.
I made sure that the previous owner (also its mechanic) replaced the timing belt, brakes and rotors which he did with no complaint.
I took delivery of this sweet vehicle for 36 hours before bringing it back to the guy.
I had no heat on the second day, the brake lines seemed like they need to be bled and I was missing numerous console and radio lights. Again, he took it back with no complaint.
After 4 days he called me back - the blower was fine, needed a new riostat(sp?), he reassured me that the brakes were indeed fine and the new lights should be in today and I can pick it back up.
So, here I am on vovloforums. I've read about the entire s70 page and feel that this site will indeed answer future questions I may have. Thank you in advance to Tech, all the Mods and any others out there who may help me in the future. I love my new car but just had to make sure things were taken care of before I took "final" delivery. The previous owner is 1 town away with his own garage and has looked over this car (his wife drove it) for the past 6 years or so and so far his customer service has been nothing short of excellent. Hope it continues.
Glad to be here-
Rick
P.s. interestingly enough, my father picked up a used 2000 V70 at the same time with low mileage and he is in the same town with essentially the same car. Could come in handy later on down the road...[8D]
