i am in the car biz and occasssionally a good deal is too good to pass up. i was driving a suburban 30 miles a day for my commute and next thing you know a nice middle aged lady pulls up in a 1986 240dl wagon. it is a california car that has 129000 original miles and she is the second owner since 5k. i pop the hood and there is not a single hose or wireolder than maybe 6mos. the exhaust is brand new and it has new tires!! i ask her if she wants to trade it in and she tells me she has been replacing things on the car for about a year so she can trade it in in "respectable" condition!! we did the deal, new vw by the way and i bought myself a perfect commuter car. i am thrilled!! it runs great, has some paint oxidation, but is fun as he$$ to drive! hope to learn some from you guys and gals.
