Greetings. :)
We've had a '95 960 wagon for about a year and we love it. It's my wife's very first European car and it's everything she was hoping it'd be. It's everything I already knew it would be; my very first car was a '79 924, I also had a 325e at one point (not pleasant to work on but a blast to drive) and I've owned a dozen or so Audis over the years, including my 380hp 380hp 1991 200 Quattro wagon that I'm absolutely in love with (when it's running right *snicker*).
There's something about the 960's simple, time-tested front engine/rear-wheel-drive/rear-indepenent-suspension and the way it affects handling that I'm not entirely sure how to describe - the best I can come up with is to say that it feels unstable yet entirely controllable at the same time. It is definitely a lot of fun after years of driving allwheel-drive turbos, especially sliding around a corner intersection in a perfect drift, with just the right amount of oversteer dialed in through the tires' air pressure.
Anyhow, I have valve problems (lots of them *cough* busted timing belt *cough*) so you can expect to hear more from me elsewhere in the forum. :P
