Default Hello - new volvo owner V70

I've posted on here and some other forums recently - the info is INCREDIBLY helpful. Thanks everyone for the contributions. I bought a 99 V70 a week ago saturday. I've wanted a volvo for a while - definately wanted a wagon, it was between a subaru, a volvo, or a VW passat. previous cars were nothing like the V70 - i've had a Ford Taurus wagon, a ford escort, a 1993 suby gl wagon, and a 1982 suby wagon - fairly inexpensive cars. I've always thought the volvos look great (aside from the 740 wagons) - anyway, nice forum and great info! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, I'm glad you found it helpful.

Be sure to follow scheduled maintenance, especially the timing belt & its pulleys & tensioner. PCV system is another issue that has been causing problems on 850s, S/V70s.

Best of luck to you,

JPN

Thanks! i'm planning on doing a timing belt change/tensioner/pulkley/waterpump here in the next month as i don't know when it was last done. The belt looks to be in good condition, so i'm guessing it was done at the 60k mark, but i'd rather have the peace of mind knowing that it's done. I also need to take a look at the throttle body i think, starting is a bit rough, but liveable for now.

Welcome. I agree, Volvo has always had the best looking wagons. No one elses even come close.
