Default Hello from sunny Arizona

I recently ditched my 172,000-mile 1998 S70 and bought a 2005 S60 under the Volvo-certified used cars program. While I am happy with the S60, I'm quite UNhappy that the transmission died so soon on my S70. Thank goodness for this Volvo owners' forum! I look forward to reading what the rest of you have to say.

Regards,
Carissa in Arizona

Hello Carissa,

Welcome to the forum.

How could you......

Anyway, make sure to follow scheduled maintenance on your S60, especially the timing belt + its pulleys + tensioner. Check for recalls and have them taken care of at the dealer. This is free of charge to customers:

Best of luck to you, and try not to ditchyour new Volvothis time. There are people around the world whose hearts are aching to buy a Volvo but can't even afford a tricycle.

Hello

I rarely here the S70 transmissions going bad. What went wrong with the transmission. Did you change or flush the fluid on time. Just make sure you get the transmission serviced on time on your S60 so you dont suffer the same fate as the S70. I heard just chaning the fluid every 30K miles will make the transmission last for ever and I heard some people do that.
